    There is a golden opportunity here for you, student, to build experience in your field of study! This is a full-time position during the summer period to complete an internship. Reporting to the Quality Control Director, the Fumoir Grizzly team is looking for a Quality Control Intern. If you’d like to be part of the adventure, here’s what awaits you:
  • Responsibilities and Tasks

    Tasks in the Plant
    • Sampling raw materials and finished products for microbiological analysis;
    • Inspecting fish during filleting according to PNE quality criteria;
    • Verifying the compliance of finished product labeling during packaging and production;
    • Acting as an interim for procedures and PNE verification;
    • Checking weights according to policy and fish product inspection sampling methods and calculating the weighted average per the Weights and Measures Regulations;
    • Randomly validating a batch based on CFIA standards;
    • Conducting "Good Manufacturing Practices" verification during production;
    • Inspecting the building (construction, design, and surrounding areas) and tracking repairs;
    • Raising employee awareness of proper hygiene and sanitation methods and good manufacturing practices;
    • Providing GMP and HACCP training for employees;
    • Collaborating with CFIA inspectors
    • Managing the inventory of chemicals;
    • Calibrating various equipment.
    Office Tasks
    • Writing corrective action reports and following up on corrective measures;
    • Entering sanitation indicator statistics;
    • Updating the QMP, HACCP plan, and SQF Level 2, including prerequisite programs, Regulatory Control Points, Hazard Analyses, etc.;
    • Resolving quality issues in collaboration with the Quality Control Director;
    • Purchasing new materials and making phone calls to source new equipment;
    • Participating in the new product development process (HACCP validation, feasibility study, and regulatory compliance);
    • Data entry.
  • Required Skills

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Technology.
    • Currently studying Food Processing and Quality Technology.
